Software Engineer
Datran Media's software engineering division is a twenty-person, fast-growing, Reston, VA-based group that is seeking software engineers to join its team. Datran Media software engineers build software and business intelligence systems using the latest Microsoft technology, including .NET and SQL Server. They are asked to push the limits in development speed and architectural robustness to build solid, scaleable, and flexible solutions. Responsibilities
- Create the technical design for a software system based on .NET and SQL Server, working with a technical architect
- Create estimates for completing development assignments, and work with the project manager to create and commit to a project scheduled
- Develop software within the designed architecture, to specification, according to the project schedule
- Understand the needs of the business and work with the project manager to inform him of functional design and schedule tradeoffs
- Prepare system for deployment
Skills and Education
- Software development using the .NET platform, including ASP.NET and C#
- Database development on the SQL Server platform
- Experience with modern software architectures (including SOA)
- Data warehousing, OLAP, and data mining experience desirable
- Bachelor's degree
