NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 12, 2007 --Joshua Baer, chief technology officer of Datran Media, a leading performance-based marketing company, will participate in a Ferris Research Webinar focused on email sender authentication. Sender authentication is an email standard that allows consumers to determine if an email message has been forged. During the Webinar, Baer will give a recap of the email industry's positioning and authentication initiatives in 2006 as well as a look at the road ahead for authentication best practices in 2007.
Datran Media is a long-standing champion of authentication best practices as a steering committee member of the Email Sender and Provider Coalition (ESPC) and the Authentication and Online Trust Alliance (AOTA), and as an industry leader in CAN-SPAM compliance. Baer is the co-chair of the ESPC technology committee, chair of the Email Experience Council partnership committee and the creator of Deliverability.com, an online encyclopedia on email deliverability. He is recognized industry-wide for his thought leadership on email marketing best practices.
"Sender authentication is mutually beneficial to both receivers and email marketers," commented Baer. "It is a platform for better spam filtering and improved reputation services, and the technology has great potential to lead to less spam in the consumers' inboxes and higher deliverability rates for senders."
Co-presenters for the sender authentication Webinar include Richi Jennings, analyst for Ferris Research, Eric Allman, chief science officer for Sendmail, and Harry Katz, program manager with the technology care and safety group for Microsoft.
