Datran Media Advancing Online Safety Across Industry
NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 9, 2007 --Datran Media, a leading provider of performance-based email marketing solutions, today announced that its chief technology officer, Joshua Baer, will speak on three panels at the Authentication and Online Trust Summit (AOTS) in Boston, April 18-19, 2007. This will be Baer's third year championing the industry-wide initiative at the summit. Alongside experts from Microsoft, Bank of America and others, Baer will lead discussions on authentication, feedback loops, unsubscribe options and predictions for 2008. Baer's continued involvement in AOTS supports Datran Media's commitment to furthering the education of email best practices and preserving consumer trust in online channels.
On day one of AOTS, at 2:30 p.m., Baer will participate on a panel titled "Through the Looking Glass: Authentication from the Marketing POV." Moderated by Fran Maier, executive director and president of TRUSTe, this panel will discuss the business value of authentication for marketers, how marketers' opinions about authentication have evolved over the years, and the major driving factors behind adoption. Co-panelists include Jeanniey Mullins, partner and senior director of OgilvyOne Worldwide, and Lauren Skena, manager of e-marketing for National Geographic.
On day two, Baer will moderate a panel on ISP feedback loops and unsubscribe, as well as participate in the closing "Movers and Shakers" roundtable. At 1:30 p.m., Baer along with Eric Castelli, CTO and co-founder of LashBack, and Brian Holdsworth, senior product planner for Microsoft, will discuss the various ways that senders receive feedback and complaints from their customers, the implications of sender score and reputation and the emerging unsubscribe technologies.
The closing session takes place at 3:45 p.m. and features insights and predictions from visionaries in technology and marketing. The panel will be moderated by Ileana Armstrong, editor of SC Magazine, and Baer will be joined by Michael Della Penna, CMO of Epsilon, Ryan Hamlin, GM of Microsoft, Fran Maier of TRUSTe, and Don Massaro, CEO of Sendmail.
Before serving as chief technology officer for Datran Media, Baer founded SKYLIST, one of the nation's leading email service providers (ESPs). His company was acquired by Datran Media in 2006. In 1998, Baer authored an unsubscribe standard that has been adopted by Google, Majordomo, Microsoft and Yahoo!. In 2005, he created Deliverability.com, an online encyclopedia on email deliverability.
