NASCAR.COM Wins ad:tech Award for Best Email Marketing Campaign Carried by Datran Media
Second Recognition of the Year for Award-Winning TrackPass Scanner Promotion
NEW YORK, NY and ATLANTA, GA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 10, 2007 -- Over 130 judges from the industry's most revered companies and brands met at ad:tech San Francisco this year to review submissions and announce the winners of the Tenth Annual Limelight Awards Program. NASCAR.COM's TrackPass Scanner promotion during the 2006 Talladega Race weekend, facilitated by Datran Media( http://www.datranmedia.com/), received the ad:tech award for Best Email Marketing Campaign.
The campaign was delivered to one million email recipients before and after the April 30, 2006 Talladega race weekend. The email informed recipients of a free trial of TrackPass Scanner, an in-car audio service that allows fans to hear live, streaming audio of the communications between fans' favorite drivers and their pit crews.
Pre-race notifications went to NASCAR.COM's entire opt-in email list. Recipients were not only informed of the free weekend offer for the April 30th Talladega race weekend, but were also able to sample audio clips of NASCAR's top drivers directly from the email. For a more personal message, emails were segmented by the recipients' previously acquired Favorite Driver preference, and then designed with each recipient's respective Favorite Driver message and creative.
Immediately following the Talladega Race Weekend, NASCAR.COM offered a special "buy now" discount on TrackPass Scanner to all email recipients. As the campaigns are powered by Datran Media's top-ranked email marketing automation system StormPost, NASCAR.COM was able to monitor the performance of the emails, respond to customer feedback and optimize deliverability in real-time. The email campaign resulted in tens of thousands of TrackPass Scanner free trials and a 72% increase in pre and post-race subscriptions -- the highest conversion rate of any other TrackPass Scanner direct marketing campaign.
This exciting and prestigious 2007 Limelight award for the category of Interactive Campaigns was presented to Turner Sports New Media as carried by Datran Media on Wednesday, April 25th, coinciding with ad:tech's Connect LIVE! party. This honor comes on the heels of NASCAR.COM's recent recognition in the 2007 Internet Advertising Competition in which the Talladega campaign was awarded the Best in Show for Email Marketing.
